"Here Comes The Money" starts playing over the arena, making the crowd take notice and get onto their feet. Soon Shane McMahon comes walking out onto the stage holding a clipboard. Wonder what's on that thing? Hey let's read on and find out! He walks down the ramp and climbs into the ring, before quickly being handed a microphone. Lets see what the boss man has to say. With such a speedy entrance I'd say he was making it quick.
Shane McMahon: I'm not out here to waste your time. I'm not out here to talk about the events for last Friday, I have my reasons for what I did, whether you like it or not. But right now we're leaving the past in the past. Because I want to talk about the future. And the future regarding this company. And by looking into the future I'm talking about our money makers. That's right, Pay Per View. With the influx of the talent we've been getting, with the success we've had from our debut episode of Smackdown. The signs point to Pay Per View. Sure we've only had one show, you can't really judge success on that. Sure we've had a lot of talent come, but who knows when they'll decide to leave. Well the offer I'm about to propose will surely turn some heads. First off let me explain it to you.
Our new Pay Per View deal goes into effect May 14th. So what I'm proposing is that on May 14th we usher in our new era by presenting you with some ideas that will invoke our "fresh faces" policy. Right here in my hand is a contract. This contract has four blanks on it. Well that is because at our first Pay Per View, Night Of Champions, we are going to have 2....count 'em, 2 Championship Scramble matches. One for each singles Championship as you can assume. The contract I hold in my hand is for the World Heavyweight Championship Scramble match. And as far as I can see, we have no contenders for it.
I understand that Jake Benson is the #1 contender. But the clause during his match stated that he can challenge for the World Championship at any given time he chooses. That means he can challenge for it next week. He can challenge for it at the PPV. He can even wait and challenge for it next year. Point is that Jake Benson will still be the contender after the PPV if he's not in the scramble match. So that leads me to my final point. We need some contenders. At this upcoming Smackdown, I will have decided and I will announce the people who will be in not only in the World Championship Scramble match, but also the Intercontinental Scramble match. So no matter which way you look at it. I think everybody will have a fair chance at walking out with gold.
The crowd cheers as Shane drops the mic. His music hits and he climbs out of the ring. He heads up the ramp and backstage to his office where the PPV planning shall begin. Those who want to better their chances of getting into a championship match, well they aughta do some impressing this upcoming week on Smackdown.
