"The Game" by Motorhead breaks up the silence that shortly filled the arena after the show had returned from a commercial break. The crowd jumps to their feet knowing to expect the game himself, Triple H. Soon he makes his way out onto the stage holding a black bag. He takes a drink of the bottled water he had held in his other hand before tossing it off the stage. He raises his arms in the air, collecting a big pop from the crowd before descending down the ramp towards the ring. Sliding the black bag into the ring, he steps up onto the apron and climbs in. He walks to the far side of the ring, climbing onto the apron and performing one of his signature poses before the fans. They wildly cheer him again making him chuckle to himself, and remember why he's in this business. He jumps off the turnbuckle and is quickly handed a mic before he begins slowly pacing around the ring, gargling what he wanted to say around in his head. His music slowly fades out and as the cheers slowly die down he begins to speak.
Triple H
Let me give you all a brief history lesson. I signed with this company in 1995. 15 long years ago. And since then I have become a focal point surrounding the name WWE. Every day I have trained to better myself, to build myself, to increase my skill whenever I had the chance. Do you know why? Because I live this business. I breath this business. And if you're not trying to get to the top of the mountain, then what is the point of even being here? I have been involved with some of the biggest stables, the biggest rivalrys, the biggest matches in this companies history. Now call me arrogant, call me egotistical. But I believe I'm only being honest when I say I deserve the World Championship more than anyone else in this company. Only a few original WWE names remain, the rest of the crew are guys that have only been recently picked up. Guys that haven't bled inside a WWE ring, guys that havent sweat their asses off inside a WWE ring. I'll give Stephanie and Shane credit. What they're doing is revitalizing a company that was becoming stagnant. My father-in-law Vince had his own ideals, wanted to take the company in a direction that he liked. Now with this sudden rebirth, I can understand that Steph and Shane want everything brand new. New faces, new ideas, hell they even slightly changed the name to represent the direction this company is headed. But I represent this company better than anyone. Like I said, for the past 15 years I have worked my ass off to get to where I am. I have worked my ass off for the WWE. And I think that's more than deserving of being crowned the inaugural champion of World Wrestling Evolution.
Trips, walks over to the black bag he had brought to the ring with him. He drops down to one knee and slowly begins untying the bag before reaching in and pulling out the WWE Championship with the attitude era designs. He stays on his knee, looking deeply into the center of the championship. A moment of silence hushes the crowd before he pushes himself back up to a standing position. He raises the championship in the air, receiving a grand applaus as he begins talking again.
Triple H
This was the very first WWE Championship that I won. The very first of 13 World Championships that I have obtained throughout my career in this company. I am a 13 time World champ because of my work ethic. Because of my consistent need to better myself time and time again instead of getting to the top of the mountain and settling. You can consider this part of my resume. But where am I going with all of this? Well this week on Smackdown I'm in a match for the World championship, and I hope to claim my 14th title victory. However, it is against a guy I'd never heard of until 2 weeks ago. JC Styles, a guy I would call a rookie, despite how long he may have been in this business already. But that's only for one simple reason. Let me explain it to you. For the past week I've been studying, researching, discovering anything I can about JC Styles. What I've come across, I will honestly say I'm very impressed with. JC Styles is a young kid with a lot of talent, a lot of potential. But I don't think he's met his full potential. I think there is quite a bit of growing left to be done before this kid is ready for a big match and a big championship. Do I think he deserves a title shot? Quite honestly, no. Now hear me out, hear me out. Like I said, he's young, he still has a lot more experience to gain. He's stepping into the ring with a world renown veteran that is known as the cerebral assassin and when you compare the statistics, his odds don't come out well at all.
He pauses a moment as a few fans give a mixed reaction to what Hunter has to say. He paces around the ring some pondering the thoughts in his head and giving the fans time to soak everything in.
Triple H
I see a lot of potential in JC Styles, but I also see him throwing it away. Right now he has all the advantages in the world. He signed with a multi billion dollar company, he gets to wrestle in front of millions of fans each week. He's even getting to face a legendary superstar in his debut match and it's for the World championship. For a rookie in this business, you couldn't ask for more. But what do I see. JC Styles, wasting it all away. Blowing his opportunities, ruining his chances. It seems to me that he's more focused on drinking. You know where drinking is going to get you JC? In a hospital with liver failure. I'm in this business because I love this business. And when I see young guys like you walking around with your chest puffed out, your shoulders standing high thinking your on top of the mountain, well it becomes my job to knock you back into reality. I see too many guys walking around pretending they're rockstars because they're getting big paychecks, because they're getting famous. If you're not in this business to put respect into wrestling then you might as well leave. So while part of me sees you as a youngster with unlimited potential, another part of me sees you as a partier, a guy trying to live the rock life. And it's those type of guys that I love to beat the shit out of most. You want my advice JC? Drop the beer. It's only going to ruin your career in the long run, and if you continue, then I wouldn't expect a long healthy career in this industry.
He lowers the mic again, receiving another mixed reaction. Plenty of JC Styles fans in the audience, probably fans that share his party life belief system. Triple H didn't have a problem with people who liked to party, he had a problem with people who disrespect his career and try to use the benefits for fame and fortune.
Triple H
And maybe I'm wrong about you JC. Maybe when Smackdown comes, you'll show a side of yourself that you keep prepared for big matches. Maybe I'll see the focused, determined side of JC Styles. A guy that is striving to become the best in this business. And if you have that character in you JC, I want you to bring him out. When you're facing me, there's no need for party boy antics. This is all business. And if you think I'm going to let you get a World title, let alone a victory over my name, by just laying down, then you are dead wrong. Ask around, the people who beat me come few and far between. And the one's that do succeed, they work their asses off for it. I don't care how many companies you've competed in, I don't care how many other championships you've won. You're now in the big leagues, you're now stepping up to the plate. It's the final inning, with 2 outs, and bases loaded. When it comes crunch time, are you going to strike out, or are you going to take the opportunity and run with it like you've never ran before? This isn't some measly low budget championship, and I'm not your average wrestler. If you want the title that badly you'll earn it, and you'll earn it the right way.
He looks down at the championship still in his hand and raises it in the air one more time. The crowd cheers again as he yet again raises the mic to speak.
Triple H
This is my inspiration for winning. This is where I set my goals. To prove to everyone around the world that I am the absolute best at what I do. To be able to lay the claim that I am indeed the game because this is the industry that I control. To have a reason to say each week that I'm the best damn wrestler who steps through those curtains. Without one of these, and even sometimes without several of these, you're just another guy. That is why I strive to win this championship every opportunity I get. Because I know I'm not just another guy and that I deserve nothing less. But tell me JC, what is your inspiration? The championship pay that allows you to buy more alcohol? The glory and the fame that get more women into your hotel room? How about this. Allow your inspiration to become something different. Allow your inspiration to be the fact that if you manage to beat me, and claim your first WWE championship over Triple H, then you have the ability to say you've beaten the best in the world and you did it for the prize that he seeks most. Because this title represents the oxygen I need to breath, and this industry represents my life.
Triple H drops the mic and receives another big pop from the crowd. "The Game" hits again as he climbs the turnbuckle and poses with his first WWE World Championship. As obvious as it is, he's determined to claim another World Championship. After all, that is the goal in this business. To stay on the top as long as you can. He continues to pose to the crowd as the scene slowly fades to black, heading into another commercial.
